Book Week theme: God’s Big Book

9 August 2013 No Comment

For a mid-week or Sunday program with children, use the opportunity of Book Week 17 – 23 August 2013 to celebrate God’s Big Book – the Bible! The theme this year is ‘Read Across the Universe’ which certainly applies to God’s word!

Help children identify their favourite parts of the Bible through Bible games, puzzles, crafts and stories. Children love to make their own books and even toddlers can help create a picture book. In 2011 celebrations marked the anniversary of 400 years of the authorised Bible in English, launched by King James in 1611. On the Messy Church website there are lots of free ideas under ‘authorised mess’ to get you thinking.

Or you could make a simple book at playgroup or Sunday school.

See the short list of books that have been nominated for prizes in 2013.
