A great opportunity to celebrate our partnership with schools is in Education Week each year! This year from 1-5th August, Schools will be showcasing the fantastic achievements of Public Education both within schools and in the local community.

Do you have a connection to your local school, perhaps teaching Special Religious Education, or you may be involved in breakfast programs or lunchtime groups? In SRE time, some schools combine classes for an Education week service or assembly, which depending on the make-up of the school community could be a multi-faith service.

ChristianSRE (also known as ICCOREIS) is an inter-church SRE resourcing peak body and has put together some resources that might be helpful if putting together an education week service. Follow this link.

If you have multiple faiths represented in the school community, it would be worth inviting others to be involved and create an interfaith service together. If you are looking to do this, its really important its done genuinely and respectfully. The Uniting Church Relations with other Faiths working group has some advice on doing this that you might find helpful. Follow this link.
