Celebrating Advent @ Home – Advent Family Calendar

24 November 2016 One Comment

2016-advent-fam-calWe are about to enter the season of preparation – Advent – we are getting ready to come close to the celebration of Christmas.

So what can we do to get ready? As a family spiritual practice, we’ve put together a special family advent calendar, which provides a small activity for each day of advent that you can do as a family, at whatever time of day suits you – talking, reflecting, creating, praying, together. This calendar was created by a collaborative effort of 4 Uniting Church children and family pastors/ministers.

Each day of the week has a different theme – Preparation, Prayer, Music, Scripture, Justice, Family, Giving – a variety of starting points for a short family activity, and often discussion starter questions while you ‘do’.

Some of the days have a resource to print, or short clip/song, available via you tube. For ease of use, I’ve put all the links on this post so you know where to find them easily!

Blessings for this Christmas season!

[…] They also suggest a simple activity each day — sometimes watching a YouTube clip, sometimes getting outside and doing something physical together. If you wanted to give it a try, read more and download their free resources here: childrensministry.org.au/2016/11/advent-home-cal/ […]
